Trucker cap is a cap with plastic mesh in back four panels and foam in fronts. The design of a trucker cap is similar to that of a baseball cap, with a slightly curved bill in front, joined triangular sections forming the hat, and a button on top. Instead of being made of cotton fabric like a typical baseball cap, the front panel of a trucker cap above the peak is foam, and the rest is plastic mesh for better breathability. The foam front of the hat stands up straight and stiff, with embroidery patch or printed patch being sewn on. There is an adjustable plastic snap closure in the back, usually 7 holes, to ensure that one size fits all. Trucker cap can now be found with other pictures, logos, flags, camouflage, or humorous sayings on the front. Trucker hats are still available as promotional items.
"Trucker cap" is called because of its blue collar associations; it’s worn by farmers and migrant agricultural workers from the very beginning. It is also known as a "gimme cap" due to its being given away for free as a method of advertising. But at year 2006 it’s really hot as some famous singer/movie stars love trucker cap so much, such as Madonna Ciccone , Nicolas , Britney Jean Spears. The most famous trucker cap brand is Von Dutch, a New York hip-hop headwear fashion pioneer.
